Striding across expansive sage-brush prairie as a Harris's Hawk rides on a T-perch above you. Stalking up the dike of a pond as a Peregrine waits on a thousand feet above your head.

Marching through a tangle of blackberries as a Goshawk waits on your fist. These are the moments falconers live for, when both predator and prey are in their element and allow their full skills to be on display.

Come join us in the field. Not only will you witness the dynamic interactions between hunter, dog, raptor, and quarry, but too will become a member of the team.

Once the hunt is over join us for a delicious meal—a chance to ask questions, share stories, and enjoy good company.

A HISTORICAL TIDBIT

The position of falconer was usually handed down from father to son. In a royal household he was called Lord Falconer, sitting fourth from the king at table. He was responsible for capturing, training and caring for the hawks. He was a key member of the hunt, planning with the lord which birds to fly at which prey. He also rode to war with the lord, bringing the birds along to hunt for food.
